Merry Christmas Trivia!

Here are a few items of fun Christmas trivia to share around the dinner table. Enjoy! 🎄 ~ The most expensively decorated Christmas tree award goes to Yves Piaget who spent over $13 million US dollars on 'baubles'. Those baubles were comprised of 83 pieces of very expensive jewellery!

🎁 ~ If you were to add up all the gifts in the 12 Days Of Christmas, there's almost enough for one gift every day of the year – 364 gifts!

🎅 ~ The first ever song to be broadcast from outer space was Jingle Bells. It was sung by the crew of spaceship Gemini 6 to Mission Control on December 16, 1965, after they reported seeing a 'red-suited astronaut'!

🦌 ~ We know the names of Santa's nine reindeers from a poem by Clement Moore (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen), but did you know that Donner and Blitzen is German for Thunder and Lightning, and that's exactly why they were so named!

🎄 ~ The first artificial Christmas tree was made of goose feathers dyed green, and was created in Germany in the 19th Century when major deforestation depleted the natural spruce.
